Problem solved! As always: The user is the problem, not the
software. I am no programmer, this is my only excuse for making a dumb
mistake.

My thinking mistake was this.

I found out that emms-cache-sync *does* work for playlists, when I call it
again with the playlist file open and active (with the song in more than one
playlist, I have to do it in all of them, but that’s alright, how would emms
»know« all my playlist-files to update them). But when I closed the playlist
file and re-opened it, it was as if I never had synced, it showed the old
information for album title and artist.

The emms-browser keeps all the new information after closing. But of course
this is because the browser gets the information new from file everytime, while
the playlists NEED TO BE SAVED to file after emms-cache-sync. This was my
stupid error! I just need to save the playlist after emms-cache-sync, and
everything is fine.

Maybe we could add a feature that asks: Playlist has been changed, save to disk?

Excuse my slow learning, please. And thanks again for emms and all the work you
put into it!

Titus
