First, two great recordings from Ben Sturmfels.  There's a video of his

Then there's a new topic: the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).
I haven't dug into the details, but some webpages say that requirements
about software and business method patents are being discussed.

It's a trade treaty and the economic heavyweight is the USA, so this is
almost certainly the case.  I'm a little busy with documenting patent
office decisions, so it would be very helpful if some people could do
some reading about this treaty and add software patent related info
here:

If anyone is near Melbourne, there's a public lecture on Monday 5 March
by Brett Smith of FSF about licence enforcement, and about the TPP.
He'll certainly mention patent aspects, and the event is being organised
by Ben Sturmfels, so you will find people there who want to discuss
