Dear developers,
My name is Raquel and I'm a first-year PHD student in the nonlinear physics group in
the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). My thesis is focused on the use of LBMs to simulate particle migration in arteries, as well as their interaction with other particles such as RBCs. The project is still in the early stages of research, but
we plan to use some of espresso's functionalities to build our model.
As for my programming experience, I learned Python in my bacherlor degree and C++ during
my master's, where I developed both a classical hybrid optimization model and a deep learning algorithm to solve an stochastic control problem related to the optimal posting of colateral. Due to the high computational cost intrinsic to the model, part of the
calculations had to be parallelized with CUDA. This approch allowed me to compare two optimization tecniques of different nature.
I'm looking forward to joining this community and using espresso to further my research.
Best regards,
Raquel
