Ok, I understand your concern now.

It's created only once and re-used for rendering all the vobs (before
rendering a vob, the coordinates of the coordinate system are written
into the RenderInfo). That's both the old and proposed new approach. The
code is in libvob.impl.OrthoCoorder and libvob.impl.DefaultVobMap I think.
