Hi Chemistry contributors!

I'd like to welcome 5 new members to the FHSST
Chemistry project:

John, Angus, Syed, Roger and Maheshwari thank you very
much for volunteering!

A couple of points that I hope may help everyone in
their writing:

1) Please feel free to use this mailing list to
exchange ideas/ ask questions / discuss content. The
list is there to enable communication between
contributors!

2) If you do not know how to access CVS or use LateX,
it's absolutely fine to submit contributions in MS
Word or other word processing format. We can easily
convert it into the correct format for the book for
you.

3) You don't have to have completely finished a
section before sending it in - if you want comments
etc, please send in semi-complete sections - it saves
time in the long run!

4) A really good free resource that you can use to get
ideas for content for your sections is Wikipedia at
http://wikipedia.org/ . Feel free to use their content
-it is all under free license.
Obviously it is NOT ok to use content from copywritten
resources!

5) Where applicable, please try to include worked
examples to illustrate concepts. The best way to test
whether concepts have been understood is to try them
out! There are lots of examples of worked examples in
the FHSST physics book and Chemistry book which can be
seen (in pdf format) by clicking on their respective
icons on the FHSST webpage (www.nongnu.org/fhsst ).
Other ideas such as including interesting facts etc
can also be seen here.

There is also a specific section on the FHSST website
with information for authors:
http://www.nongnu.org/fhsst/5_for_authors.html

Good luck! And thank you all for the help! If you have
any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Cheers
Sarah
