Hello All,As a Open Source Software (OSS) Developer I want to make some questions to you. I think I don't have any other place batter then this to ask my questions.
In my point of view the people who are making OSS in Bangladesh are doing it as per hobby only. Most of them (as far I know) are students from many places in real life. But we have a few developers who are related with IT as job in practical life and also participating for making or helping to make OSS too. I don't know the reason (may be some of you know).
From a long time some questions are in my mind and I believe some people may hep me to know the perfect answer. Here are my questions with detail.
1: What are the current status of Open source in Bangladesh. I mean where can I find the most culture of OSS in bangladesh IT sector.
2: Looking at the culture of OSS, I want to know why they are depending OSS. Is it only because it's free?
3: We cannot see any implementation of software copyright here in BD, so we can use any software anytime, so is there any future of OSS really?
4: Is our government concern about OSS and it's benefits and do we have any culture of OSS in academia of Bangladesh?
5: Can anyone tell me some successful OSS projects and some projects people are working on?
6: If we start any new project as OSS, what should we start with? I mean what are the demands to OSS from the IT industry?
You are thinking why I'm asking you all this. Well, I'm dedicated to OSS development in Bangladesh, so I must know all this to understand why I'm working for and what I am up to.
Please give me information on the questions I asked you above. Best regards. Omi Azad Bangladesh
