No urgency from me, I've actually applied this in Gentoo for a bit, and
I forgot to send it :(

I just hope to find a bit more time and before 1.0.7 submit at least one
change to bmc-watchdog so that it actually works for us (basically I'd
just need it to maintain its own pidfile while in daemon mode).

I would also suggest changing drastically the build system to reduce
recursion, to seriously speed up parallel build (see [1]) but I'm not
sure if it's the right time for that.
