Thanks for the info. I still can't get things working though...

Does the 2882_174.mhx rom come directly from Tyan or has it been created
by a third party? I never flashed with 2882_174.mhx. Instead, I flashed
with smdc0172_s2882.mhx supplied by Tyan. Can I get 1.74 from Tyan? I
havn't been able to find it on their website.

With 1.72 installed, this is what I get:

address@hidden tmp]# bmc-info
Device ID: 0
Device Revision: 1
                   [SDR Support]
Firmware Revision: 1.72
                   [Device Available (normal operation)]
IPMI Version: 1.5
Additional Device Support:
                   [Sensor Device]
                   [SDR Repository Device]
                   [SEL Device]
                   [FRU Inventory Device]
                   [IPMB Event Receiver]
                   [IPMB Event Generator]
                   [Chassis Device]
Manufacturer ID: 20019FDh
Product ID: B42h
Aux Firmware Revision Info: 0h

address@hidden tmp]# bmc-config -o

Is this a result of not having 1.74 installed? Using Tyan's Util.exe
program, I am able to set the IP and broadcast addresses but not the
MAC address.

Thanks for any info...
