You have to do by yourself. FreeType doesn't provide cmap
manipulation since this is one level higher. I suggest you have a
closer look at pdfTeX which can do that, AFAIK -- it does even more,
IIRC, namely creating embedded TTFs which contain only the glyphs
needed for the particular PDF document.
