[Freetype] FreeType Cache & multithread

Short question.
I couldn't find it said directly.

Is FreeType Cache multithread compatible, so I can have one cache
for several threads running in parallel?

Is there any negative impact when using it this way, than having 
separate caches one for each thread?

Does it work correctly under Windows also?
