[Freetype] FTGL crashing OpenGL driver

Hi all,

I'm rendering fonts in an opengl window using the visualization toolkit
(www.vtk.org) which uses freetype 2.1.2 and FTGL. All was fine till I got  a
new video card which crashes when rendering arial fonts. The video card is
an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo. The crash occurs in the driver
atioglxx.dll

Has anyone come across this or know of a fix?
