Yes. I've tried firefox and the text editor scite. I also tried ftview
from 2.1.7. The problem seems to be that freetype is incorrectly
estimating the horizontal width of the glyphs.

I'm trying to package 2.1.9 for debian, but the package system is nasty
and there are some problems with debian's patches[1] not applying, and
some build errors.
