[ft] problem with Verdana bold

Hi,
Verdana bold is not displayed correctly on my Fedora
Core 4, with BCI enabled with hintslight, hintmedium,
or hintfull. It's kinda blurry and very thick, and
still quite different than Windows with hintnone. An
obviously problematic case is capital W and N,
diagonal strokes.

Any idea why this happens?
Well, I can live without Verdana, but I'm curious
about the reason.
