I don't have time to analyze code like that. If you want an answer
from me, write a stand-alone program (for the console) AS SMALL AS
POSSIBLE which I can easily compile on my GNU/Linux box, and which
exhibits the problem.
BTW, have you checked the FreeType demo programs?
