2.10.3 BW renderer changes

Hi,

I noticed that from 2.10.2 to 2.10.3 something changed inside the BW 
renderer.

The new output is much worse, most of chars have single dots protruding 
in the external outline.

Is there any parameter to make >= 2.10.3  to produce the same output of 
<= 2.10.2 ?
