Hi
The UK based BLAG linux distro [1] was hosted on one of
the London web servers that appear to have been taken out
by the FBI [2] at the behest of the Swiss and Italian
governments, probably with the agreement of David
Blunkett.
Details on this here:
http://www.indymedia.org/en/static/fbi.shtml
And a couple of good articles on el reg:
- Home Office in frame over FBI's London server seizures
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/11/home_office_fbi_mlat_request/
- Feds seize Indymedia servers
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/08/fbi_indymedia_raids/
I think this is a matter that should concern the Free
software movement. I wonder if there is anything the AFFS
can do about this, like asking some akward queations,
doing a press release, circulating the news the UK LUGs?
