Just to add more possible products to the list:
Grisbi is a personal accounting package that doesn't do double-entry.
Under GPL (although their manual is under the "ode to my goldfish licence"
with maybe a botched usage) http://www.grisbi.org/ Uses GTK.
Quasar Accounting is now available under the GPL (Source: LWN)
http://www.linuxcanada.com/ but they're hoping to sell proprietary
POS software to go with it. Uses Qt.
I think we may be getting close to having enough for a comparison review,
eh? Personally, I found SQL-Ledger to be overkill, but I don't really
do that many transactions. Now I just use a simple database frontend to
mimic a ledger and my accountant seems happier (=a little cheaper).
gnucash is OK for small accounts, but has quite a lot of dependencies
to track.
