Ahoy,

Free Software Magazine is a relatively new magazine packed with high quality, in depth articles on free software, its use and the ethics and philosophy surrounding it.

After feedback from lots of people they've dropped their subscription prices, hoping to attract more subscribers. It's now $8.95/month for paper copies to the UK, or $24/year for PDFs. Even though the price is still slightly higher than usual for tech magazines, it's worth subscribing because:

$24 a year for PDF access is around £1 per month, and for the content it provides this is most excellent value, and its a highly credible magazine, it a political mouthpiece.

A lot of work goes into producing a publication of that quality (I do our 8 page (full colour) community newspaper and that takes enough time)(Using open office of course, doing some Urdu sections this month, which is interesting).

Online HOWTO's and linux.com postings are very good, but £1 a month to have someone bring this sort of good stuff all to one place is a bargain.

Sign up in droves, chaps, don't hang around.

Sam
