KDE-ie's software patent briefing and information campaign to irish MEPs
http://www.kde.ie/patents/
seems to have gathered some media attention, as well as good MEP reactions:
http://news.zdnet.co.uk/business/legal/0,39020651,39191811,00.htm
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1777075,00.asp
One strength may be that KDE can present a very visible set of
applications, which work, have pretty screenshots, are strongly
European, and are easy for MEPs to understand, which can really make
concrete in MEPs' minds the danger that software patents could shut down
the whole project.
Could something similar be done by a high-profile project in the UK, to
illustrate for UK MEPs the concreteness of the threat ?
