Hello Andy,
Bittorrent for the distribution. FSF have their own bittorrent tracker
or for a public tracker its OneBigTorrent or the .torrent file can go up
on my tracker.
Media codec: video Theora ogg and Vorbis audio ogg
# theora.org
http://www.theora.org/
For video licence check out creative commons.
# creativecommons.org/license/
# License Your Work
http://creativecommons.org/license/
The video can have mata data attached, licence, producer...
The packaging of the video is best done with a base directory and within
that directory there would be a video .ogg file and a README.txt file
with a synopsis of the video and its licence. All so what would be handy
in the README.txt file would be a link the vlc video player.
For the video compression rate. I have found the VCD quality a exellent.
Here a link to a ogg video thats is VCD quality.
# Onebigtorrent:

The film makers give permission to freely distributive this DVD rip.
Finding a voice and a face for the job I would think at a bit of playing
about with videoing people at the group could find us a natural Media
start or it would intimate some people in the group ?
