And a final reminder that I will be tallying up the votes at 10pm
tonight, so if you haven't voted yet you have two hours to get your vote
in by emailing me with who you would prefer to be chairperson (Simon
Ward, Tim Dobson, or re-open nominations).
As the moment of truth is almost upon us I would like to reiterate some
of the that I stand for:
- Reaching out and welcoming other groups and organisations in and
surrounding Manchester in an understanding manner whilst maintaining our
ethical stance on free software
- A united mailing list with an official, gently moderated IRC channel
where peaceful discussions about free software can talk place.
- Strong ties with organisations which can help us further the cause of
Free Software
- Interesting and insightful talks on all areas of free software from a
range of speakers
- Strong, decisive leadership who willingly takes onboard feedback and
ideas from the community giving everyone a say in how the group is run
in a democratic manner whilst making sure that Manchester Free
Software's ethical high ground is not compromised.

I would like to thank Simon for being such a polite and gracious
opposition for the past three weeks and hope that we can continue to
work together over the coming months.
Should I win, I would like to create a position of vice-chairman, a
position appointed by the chairman with whom all decisions are consulted
with before being made. In the event of me winning, I would like Simon
to fill that role.
Although I do not agree steadfastly with his opinions and techniques, he
has a clear mind and straight objectives, qualities, which, without
doubt, will be very useful to Manchester Free Software over the coming
months, one way or another.
