Careful :-)
Sun->Oracle's (long running) dispute with open source is playing out
through community development forks, eg Hudson->Jenkins
OpenOffice->LibreOffice ...
Oracle's next move is to retain control of brand and trademarks but
move to a more open development and governance model. Probably best
understood just as a tactical response, not a strategic one.
An initial judgment in Oracle verses Google is expected late this year
(but timetable suggests that the judgment will be summary and so
appealed immediately). Expect Oracle's FOSS strategy is emerge only
once that's concluded.

On Friday 20 May a number of us from various geek groups will be going
for a Brazilian "meatbeer" social at Nossa Casa (formerly Tropeiro)[1]
on Sackville Street. We'll be meeting outside the restaurant just before
8pm and going straight in for a meal, followed by drinks at a nearby pub.
Last time the total cost worked out at about ?25-30/head - the food is a
fixed price (around ?20) and drinks are extra.
Everyone is welcome to attend, but please make sure you email me by
*Wednesday 18 May* so that I can book for the correct number.
Hope to see you there!
Paul
