The question of whether Potlatch (the flash based openstreetmap
editor) is free software was brought up in the admin meeting. The
original potlatch was free software, and could be built and run using
free software (gnash). However the current Potlatch 2 uses
Actionscript 3, which requires adobe's proprietary build system and
flash player.[1] The actual code to the editor, however, is still
under a free software license (the WTFPL, effectively public domain).
Hope this clears things up for anyone who was wondering.
