Greetings!  I'm away from my email until 6/1, so correspondence will
be spotty.

This is a bfd problem.  Check your build output for the bfd library
used.  Make sure the version is not too old, though any reasonably
recent one should do.  If all else fails, configure with
--enable-locbfd --disable-statsysbfd.  If problems persist, please
post full build and configure output.
