>From my perspective as the Maxima project leader, I have two major
interests:

1) Short term: ANSI. I don't think this item is news. I would just like
to reiterate its importance.

2) Long term: a general foreign function interface. I hope I am not
opening a can of worms here, but FFI is the one thing that I would like
to have for the future of Maxima that I do not see in GCL. I have more
thoughts on FFI if there is interest.
