Greetings!  Yes I've posted separately about this to the axiom list,
but the gnu.org mail servers appear very backlogged.

Yes, either at incoming.debian.org (or in the debian pool depending on
timing), and via cvs with

cvs co -r Version_2_6_1 -d gcl-2.6.1 gcl

Correct.  The .deb file with source should be at incoming.debian.org.
There are two small patches required to axiom, which I've posted on
the axiom mailing list.  We may need a few other changes to get
support for mips(el), alpha, ia64, and hppa, as I've described in that
post as well.
