Yes -- in fact its author has volunteered as a GCL developer, and has
refreshed the code to recent GCL. We had discussed bundling it at
some point, but I am unsure whether it properly belongs in a lisp
system distribution per se - i.e. where does one draw the line at
interfaces to external libraries?
It definitely should work, though I don't know how efficient it is.
I've tested it briefly myself.
