This is to be expected unless you have binutils-dev installed.

A linking option on i386, but required at present on ia64 mips mipsel
hppa and alpha.  If you'd like to give it a whirl, that would be
great, but I expect it will work without issue.

In general, linux 386, especially debian, is perhaps the most tested
system ew have.  It would be really useful for the less common
machines to be tested, freebsd, openbsd, macosx, solaris.  I'm working
on the first and fourth, but if anyone else would like to take over
here, please let me know.
