Please disregard my gcl-2.7.0 ANSI statement. Yes, I have gcl-2.7.0 ANSI, but
I did not know that AXIOM had gcl-2.6.2 (or similar) built in. (I use gcl for
Maxima).

I have tried three systems using 040624 CVS AXIOM code.

SUSE 9.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu system, Binutils 2.15.90, gcc 3.3.1) => fail
LFS 5.0 (i686-pc-linux-gnu system, Binutils 2.14, gcc 3.3.1) => ok.
LFS 6.0 CVS (i686-pc-linux-gnu system, Binutils 2.15, gcc 3.3.1) => fail
