I can confirm that cvs-gcl now seems to be working very nicely with
readline turned on.

Well thats good, since the former is _really_ easy :-) You can turn on
paren matching by having a file "~/.inputrc" with the line "set
blink-matching-paren on".

History retrieval by form would be great.  What would be really nice
would be to open up access to readline functions (or maybe just some
of them) from lisp, but I guess that would be a can of worms, eh?
