Build of GCL from CVS fails on an x64-suse-linux with:
cd unixport && echo '(load "boot.lisp")' | ./saved_pre_gcl && make saved_gcl
/bin/sh: line 1: 9371 Done echo '(load "boot.lisp")'
9372 Segmentation fault | ./saved_pre_gcl
make: *** [unixport/saved_gcl] Error 139
GCL-2.6.8pre builds fine on that same machine.
