[gcmd-usr] signature file available

The gnome commander version in Mint 18.1 repo is 1.47 & they don't 
update for "new features."
For downloading later GC versions from the home page, are signature 
files (.asc or .sig) ever available to verify the downloads?
I see Uwe has his public key listed on GC's Home page.

I'm less & less comfortable not verifying apps I D/L.  Any site or 
server can be hit.
Equifax's massive breach cost me many total hours, just locking 
everything down.
