I hope you are aware of what we mean when calling ourselves hackers: see
for example https://stallman.org/articles/on-hacking.html .  Let me also
point out (in a friendly way, of course) that "stealing" applied to
immaterial objects may also not be the best choice of words.

You helping GNU, as soon as you're competent enough, might be a good way
to learn more.  Start contributing to your favorite project in GNU.
Find its appropriate mailing list and drop a message there; I'm sure
people will suggest you something to start.

Notice that this list is about physical meetings for GNU hackers.
