Strange. Are you able to do....

tla update
copy tree to a working directory
copy my spec file into the tree (rm -f glusterfs.spec.in;wget 
http://www.mattsoftware.com/temp/glusterfs/glusterfs.spec.in)

./autogen.sh
mkdir build
cd build
../configure


and send me the resulting glusterfs.spec file ?
