Nobody responding doesn't mean the decision was changed. Changing any
of the defaults is not something I would be doing right before a
release. It may seem a minor thing, but one has to consider all the
related issues. Most people will be using a distro built package soon,
which will be using the OpenGL backend. Just because some of us don't
like binary blob drivers (I'm one of them), doesn't mean we're a
representational sample of probable Gnash users.
For all embedded platforms but the Classmate PC, AGG is the backend of
choice. For the desktop, OpenGL is the backend of choice. I don't see
this changing till the AGG or Cairo backends have close to the same
level of performance for video.
