Pardon my ignorance, but isn't the parameter "3" there the moral equivalent of a line number or label, the proper target of GOTO? If so, isn't all this complication unwarranted? GOTO doesn't ordinarily change execution state except for the execution point (manifested as an instruction pointer, or whatnot).
If it's not a label, what then _does_ it represent? Eric
