I've noticed this new problem with gradients recently. I thought it was a result of my improving the error message. but not I'm convinced this was it. I'm now starting to think that this new bug is a result of a checkin that was made while I was on vacation. I'm trying to dig through CVS to see what that change was. All I can tell is that with CVS before I left, I got none of the messages, and now I get them with many movies where I didn't previously. I'm glad checkins happened while I was offline, but we need to track down what the change was and fix it.
