The short answer is yes and no... :-) Gnash does compile and run on
the Mac, but you currently need a pile of Darwin Ports (or whatever it's
called these days) to do this. There has been slow but continuing work
on a native interface to the Mac, but it's obviously not complete.
Better Mac support is basically waiting on a Mac developer with time to
volunteer to work on Gnash...
