Hello guys,
I install gnewsense one week ago. I have a dell latitude d620 with centrino duo (t5500) processor. Since the distro comes with 386 kernel by default, i want to compile my own kernel.
I already compile the source (version 2.6.15) from gnwesense repository, but when i install it and then try to boot with it, i got this message:
Begin: wating for root file system.
After this, it doesn't do anything.
I use this command to compile:
$ sudo make-kpkg --initrd --config menuconfig kernel_image kernel_headers
I remember when i was compiling the kernel in debian (i don't use debian now, i want to be FREE ;) ) , that the system ask me about initrd, and you say Yes. But now it don't ask me something like that. It just start to compile.
Also i want to ask you for what options i need to set in the kernel configuration for this processor type.
Thanks.
