Have you had GNU/Linux installed on this machine previously?
If not, then boot a small cd, like DSL, and create a swap partition, which will
help things, it'll still be slow, but it should work.
If you already have swap, then I'm not really sure... Maybe you'll have to wait
a few months for Glossy GNU and the gNewSense fork, and hopefully there will be
an XFCE disc.
