Hi,
I've just found two pieces of proprietary software in the gNewSense Universe
repository. I've filed
a bug report, but I think it's also worth posting here. The programmes are two
games called 'Beneath
a Steel Sky' and 'Flight of the Amazon Queen', which are designed to work with
the ScummVM
interpreter. In the sourcecode of both, there's a file called readme.txt,
containing the licence,
which reads You may not charge a fee for the game itself. This includes
reselling the game as an
individual item.
Thanks,
Guy
Nice catch, Guy. Have you submitted this upstream?

Hi, there was a lot of talk on this mailing list quite recently about creating
a new version of
gNewSense based on Ubuntu Feisty. I was just wondering if the plan is to have
the next version based
on Feisty, or to have one based on Edgy (or another one based on Dapper) first.
Thanks,
Guy
Last I heard, and I may be quite wrong here, Brian and Paul were
waiting until Gutsy or the next LTS release simply due to the
resources involved (or lack thereof).
Gutsy may involve gNewSense, it may have not. I haven't heard anything
about Mark Shuttleworth or any employee of Canonical reaching out to
the gNewSense community--but take that with a grain of salt; there's
lots of ways to reach out where I wouldn't notice. :)
