We had a discussion on this a while back (the name of the next gNewSense
version). The explanation (after playing around with a lot of greek
letters) was that delta was meant to mean what it does mathematically: a
slight difference. So deltad was a slight difference to the d version of
Ubuntu (Dapper), i.e. the freedom from proprietary packages and binary
blobs. deltah is the slight difference to the h version of Ubuntu (Hardy).
