$ mplayer http://www.koqx.com/koqx.m3u
That worked perfectly for me. I'm not sure if mplayer or vlc are in the repos,
though. IIRC they are in multiverse in Ubuntu, so they wouldn't be in gNS.
Anyway, if mplayer worked then Totem should work just fine.
