many thanks for your immediate answerit happens that i've used Linux for a very long time ( from 1.2.13 ) but got this box just while ago - and i'd like to keep on using Linux
now the box is running OpenBSD because they have working installation for start - but a problem with framebuffer resolution ( http://www.openbsd.org/loongson.html ) and of course a lot of stuff that i don't need on my desktop, as usually
Gnewsense interests me because of the freedom of stuff that i don't want into my system - hope i have some way of getting it running

I think your only issue with gNewSense may be linux - I forget at what point it became not so machine-specific, but if you do have issues you can just install linux-libre 2.6.37 or something. -- \|/ Daniel JB Clark | Activist; Owner FREEDOM -+-> INCLUDED ~ http://freedomincluded.com /|\ Free Software respecting hardware
