Do it first, the MX record is needed only for other MTAs to send mail to
you, it might not be the first thing to test when configuring Postfix.

Use the hostname of your mailserver. I recommend configuring also SPF
records [0].

I use nsd3, I like using separate programs for different tasks and bind
has too large history of security problems.
