Thanks for sharing your experience. Please edit the installation 
instructions on the wiki [1] if you feel they can be improved upon, so 
that we can avoid any user frustrations.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that while Parkes is still in 
the alpha stage, it will replace Metad when it's released. That means 
the Metad repository will be gone and Metad users will be expected to 
upgrade or reinstall. Just a heads up to avoid surprises.
