With the help of GNU Linux-libre and various other people helping to check and hack on freedom issues, we've been able to produce a new major version that aligns with the Free Software Foundation's freedom guidelines as well as Debian's quality standards. You'll find that the look has changed from previous releases, marking the change from Ubuntu to Debian as a base. We also support 3 architectures now: i386, amd64 and mipsel (Lemote Yeeloong).Congratulations! Just two comments. The website needs be updated and a post at Planet GNU would be great. I'm relatively new to the FSF and some of the terminology, so forgive me if I misspeak.
I noticed recently that your distro was going to be Debian-based instead of Ubuntu-based, and I was psyched to see that. I tried Trisquel, and liked the functionality, but am not too thrilled about it being based off of Ubuntu. I noticed that this version was jumping directly to Debian, and signed right up on the mailing list. I'm excited to see what Gnewsense is going to do, and hope to spend more time on your site in the future.
Good luck, and nice work!-- George Roberge www.andforthelamb.org Free Software Foundation Member #11716 Computers are like air conditioners: both stop working when you open Windows.
