Ir from TV reciever?

Hi!

I have an Hauppauge WinTV card installed in my Linux box, I can use the
remote just fine with it. The card has an IR reciever, but I am not sure
of the specifications, or what that thing can do.
I was wondering, if there is a way, to connect my mobile phone to it
with gnokia and other programs that support IR data transfers to mobile
phones (like khandy).
