Characters encoding

Hi there,

I remember seeing something on the list about
character encoding..

Here, in Portugal, we've pontuation like: àáèéóòâôãõ
and so on and so on...

When I send'em through the mobile they arrive on the
other end in a messy way.

Any suggestion on what to do with the string before
sending it?
