Build error with gnokii-0.5.0pre1.tar.gz

On immediate build of gnokii-0.5.0pre1.tar.gz, I get the following
error.  It does appear that I have all of the documented deps in the
README, however i'm wondering if i'm missing a dep because this system
is a clean install of mandrake 9.0 (yet on previous, gnokii built fine
on mandrake 8.2 but after i built/installed gnome2 entirely from
source...should be similar tho to mandrake 9.0).

just got done researching the mailling list and it looks like a known
issue.  maybe this is due to a flaky configure/autgen files?
